How should we prepare for the assessment?
You should talk to your family member about their living situation. Look at the table below to see what topics your parent will be asked about.
Before the assessment takes place write down:
- the concerns you have about your parent’s health
- what problems your parent has completing daily tasks
- what support your parent currently has available to them
Your parent must give the DHB assessor all the information they ask for. Tell the assessor if your parent is having problems with household tasks or experiencing depression.
